Through a lovely interpreter, Isa, who teaches English at the girl's school and stayed back specifically to translate for us, we got a tour of the beautiful chapel and the museum of this latest saint of the Holy Face of Jesus with Mother Natalina the superior of her order, the Daughters of the Immaculate conception of Buenos Aires.
Mother Natalina explained that they hoped that the feast day of the Holy Face would one day become a universal feast day like Divine Mercy Sunday as it only an optional memorial now. This is a devotion that still is as relevant today in the 21st century as back in the time of St. Veronica and the apostles in the early church.
