Updated 2024 Novena and Holy Face feast day Masses

As of 11th of February 2024, we have four parish novenas and 29 Holy Face feast day Masses taking place around Ireland not including Masses abroad and celebrated privately for the intention of honouring the Holy Face of Jesus & for the spread of the devotion. Praise God.

NOVENA OF THE HOLY FACE:

SUNDAY 4TH FEBRUARY TO MONDAY 12TH FEBRUARY

ONSITE:

1): Cavan: After 10am Mass in Cathedral of St Patrick and St Feilim. All welcome.

2): Longford:  St Mel's Cathedral, Sunday 4th February 3pm, Monday 5th to Saturday 10th, from 5 pm. Sunday 11th from 3pm and finally Monday 12th from 5pm. All welcome.

3): Galway: Church of the Immaculate Conception, Oranmore. Sunday 4th February 6.20pm, Monday 5th to Friday 9th at 7pm. Saturday 10th after 6pm vigil Mass, Sunday 11th 6.20pm and Monday 12th after 7pm Mass.

4); Limerick: St Saviour’s Church, Dominican Church, Limerick city. Daily 12.45pm before 1pm Mass.

 

 

HOLY FACE FEAST DAY MASSES:

Note: Masses are either the usual Mass of the day for Shrove Tuesday offered to honour the Holy Face & for spread of the devotion

or

special Holy Face feast day Mass for same intentions. ( Special Holy Face feast day Masses can include: Original extraordinary form / Latin Mass, or the ‘Manopello’ Mass, or the Mass of the Holy Name & or Mass of the Transfiguration: all options per advice from liturgist).

If you can't 'book' Shrove Tuesday, consider the date nearest possible and let us know.

 

 

HOLY FACE FEAST DAY MASSES

TUESDAY 13TH FEBRUARY / SHROVE TUESDAY:

 

Cavan:

St Clare’s Convent, Cock Hill, Cavan town.

Special Holy Face feast day Mass 7.30pm.

Clare:

Inagh: (15km northwest of Ennis). 9.30am Mass of the day for the intention of honouring the Holy Face & spread of the devotion

: Church of the Immaculate Conception

Followed by adoration with Holy Face devotions and Rosary.

 

Cork:

Ballyhooly: Church of the Nativity of Our Lady. 10 am Mass of the day, offered to honour the Holy Face & the spread of the devotion. Rosary and Holy Face chaplet afterwards and every Tuesday. Full prayers are prayed privately weekly.

Ballyvorney: St Abina’s church Clondrohid 9.30am to honour the Holy Face & for spread of the devotion.

 

Donegal:

 Gortahork. Church of Christ the King.10am Mass of the day, offered to honour the Holy Face & the spread of the devotion.  

Dublin:

i); Glasnevin, Our Lady of Dolours Church, Dublin 9. 10am Mass of the day will be offered to honour the Holy Face of Jesus and for the spread of the devotion.

ii): North Strand: 2.30pm:  St Agatha’s Church, North William Street, North Strand, Dublin 1. 2.30pm Holy Mass feast day Mass followed by Exposition of the most Blessed Sacrament, Holy Face devotions, prayers and short talk takes place. iii) Inchicore: 6.00pm, Oblate Church of Mary Immaculate, Tyrconnell Road, Inchicore, Dublin 8 .  6.00pm Holy hour: includes Adoration, Holy Face Devotion and Rosary, 7pm: Holy Face feast day Mass. followed by Veneration of the Holy Face Relic and blessing with oil from the International Shrine in Tours, France.

iv): Lucan: Church of the Divine Mercy; Lucan South Parish, Balgaddy Road, K78NH05, 7.30pm Holy Face feast day Mass followed by Holy Face prayers, Rosary and veneration of relic and simple blessing with oil from shrine of Holy Face Tours France. vi) Crumlin: Mater Dei Church. 7pm Mass of the day to honour Holy Face & spread of devotion.

vii) Fairview: Church of the Visitation, D03E165. 8 am Mass in honour of the Holy Face & for spread of the devotion, followed by adoration and Holy Face devotions, Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Galway:

Poor Clare Convent Nun’s Island. 8am of the day offered to honour the Holy Face & for spread of the devotion. Note: Mass intentions are not announced but it is ‘booked’

Kerry:

Kerry Life and Family, CWS Complex, Upper Rock St (Next To Cremur Heating), V92YH5V    Rosary of Reparation in the Square in Tralee 12.30pm, then devotions in Kerry Life and Family at 1.30pm followed by 2pm Mass of the day to honour the Holy Face and for the spread of the devotion. Limerick:

St Michael’s Church Limerick City. Devotions 2.30pm, Holy Face Mass 3pm, followed by Rosary and veneration of Holy Face relics including Blessed Carlos Acutis.

St Saviour’s Church, Dominican Church, Limerick city. 1pm Mass of the day to honour the Holy Face & for the spread of the devotion followed by Holy Face prayers.

St Peter and Paul Church, Banogue, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick. 9.30am Mass of the day, to honour the Holy Face & for the spread of the devotion.

Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Childers Road, Limerick. Usual Divine Mercy Holy hour 7.30pm followed by 8.30pm Mass of the day, to honour the Holy Face & for the spread of the Holy Face devotion.

 

Longford:

St Brendan’s Church Clondra Longford at 10am.

Holy Face feast day Mass, followed by Holy Face prayers and veneration of the relic.

 

Mayo:

Knock Shrine, Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Knock, Co. Mayo
Beginning 12.30pm with Rosary,

1.00pm: Holy Mass feast day Mass in honour of the Holy Face of Jesus followed by Devotions and Act of Consecration to the Holy Face.

2.15pm: Talk on the Holy Face of Jesus, Veneration of the Relic and blessing with oil from the international shrine in Tours, France.

3.00pm: Refreshments in St. John's Rest and Care Centre, Knock. All are welcome.

 

Meath:

Note apologies for short notice. The Navan Mass below has been cancelled due to a funeral. Please check back ....

Cashel: St John the Baptist Church.  Mass of the Holy Face, 10.30am. Holy Face prayers afterwards and adoration continues until 1pm. Note: this is the national shrine of the Holy Face in Ireland historically and the site of the original Irish confraternity which can be joined by contacting Cashel parish office.

9am Mass of the day for intention of honouring the Holy Face & spread of the devotion on Shrove Tuesday in : The Parish Centre, Main St. Arklow ( Church being renovated) with a Holy Face Holy Hour also in the Parish Centre later on @ 5.00 pm.

 

Vigil of feast day Monday 12th February:

Church of Our Lady of Victories Sallynoggin. The usual Monday Mass in honour of the Immaculate Conception takes place at 6pm followed by  the Rosary, Benediction and Miraculous Medal devotions plus Holy Face prayers afterwards.
